Tasty White Rice, Spaghetti and Chicken Stew


 Adding vegetables to your recipes always seem to amplify it in a way, apart from giving it a different cool taste, the look it gives any food are always or almost always desirable. A good example of this is the recipe (white rice and spaghetti with chicken sauce) submitted by Miz Lurichie. Unlike other spaghetti recipes and rice recipes, this recipes can be made with a very little amount of money, and that is one of the things that make this cool; cool recipe but yet still very affordable.
We are loving the great look of this white rice and spaghetti, and we are also very sure that it will taste super great as well.
This is how Miz Lurichie made this cool meal.


Ingredients :

Carrot
Green beans
Rice
Spaghetti
Chicken‎
Tomato paste.

Directions
‎
Chop your carrot and green beans

Put the rice or spaghetti on fire

A‎fter Par boiling it,when it's half done,add  chopped carrot and green beans to it and allow it to be fully cooked ...

Making the stew: 

Boil your  chicken and season properly

Blend your tomatoes, put it on fire  to boil, after 20mins add up your tin tomatoes, oil and seasonings, make sure it is tasty then you add your chicken,let it boil for 5mins then bring it down.....

Your tasty white rice, spaghetti and chicken stew is ready.

Couscous with Beef Stew and Coleslaw.

This recipe has a great twist in it and we are sure it is obvious to everyone. Ever seen a green couscous, well here is one and we pretty much love the intrigue Bella put into this piece, we love colours and Bella did bring a lot of colours to this meal making it truly artistic.
So here it is, couscous with beef stew and coleslaw, enjoy.


Ingredients 

Coloring, 
Couscous
Tomatoes
Scotch bonnet
Red pepper
Sliced onions
Garlic
Beef
Stock
Seasonings
Cabbage
Carrots‎
Onions‎
M‎acaroni
Cucumber
Mayonnaise
Eggs

Directions‎
‎
Boil water in a pot with little oil, salt and coloring, add couscous, stir and allow to drain. 

Fry blended tomatoes, scotch bonnet, red pepper and sliced onions, add garlic, beef,stock and stir, add seasonings, allow to cook for few mins. 

Mix cabbage,carrots,onions,cooked macaroni,cucumber with mayonnaise and color, add eggs with tomatoes.‎

Chicken Soup with Potatoes


Here is a lovely recipe submitted by our very own amazing subscriber, We all should know Bella by now and also know anything that comes from her must be super great. Today she will be showing us how she made her own chicken soup with potatoes.., looking at this already shows that it will taste great.. Ingredients

Potatoes
Chicken
Garlic
Ginger
Seasoning
Onions
Green Pepper
Red Pepper
Scotch Bonnet
Tomatoes
Carrots
Peas

Directions

  • For the potatoes y ou can either roast, cook or fry in your desired shape.

  •  Wash chicken and place in a large pot, add water, garlic, ginger, seasoning and onions.

  • Bring to boil

  •  In a separate pot, pour vegetable oil,add onion and ginger, fry.

  •  Add sliced green and red pepper, scotch bonnet, tomatoes and fry till dry,add your stock and chicken. You can debone or leave it. Cook. 

  • Add carrots and peas when almost done.

  • Simmer and serve.

Snail Salad

Salads are just one food that everyone love to have, their are numerous salads like the abacha, vegetable salad etc.
 Snails taste great, when you know how to specially make it just as Pretty Eyez did.
We are loving the innovative idea of this snail salad and it looks like it is going to taste great and also have a good texture that you will want to linger before swallowing.
Pretty Eyez sent in this great recipe and directions to make the snail salad.



Ingredients:

(Everything fresh)
Snail
Pepper
Onions
Utazi
Ukpaka
Salt
Stock cube.

Directions

  • Add a little salt to the washed Snails and Per boil, drain and set aside.

  • Wash and chop the vegetables and keep each separately.

  • Place a dried pot on the fire, add red oil once d oil is hot put the onions and fry for half a minute

  • Add the pepper, fry for 30sec then add the snail and fry for a minute add the ukpaka and  stock cube, add a pinch of ground cameroun pepper for flavour.

  • Taste and add a little salt.

  • Turn off the fire, add the uttazi and stir.

Rice with Potatoes and Chicken Sauce


Many recipes, many innovations, many ideas. Their are just so many food recipes to try out, and when it seem like you have ran out of ideas, you get to see many more recipes you haven't tried out yet. That is one of the reasons why NFC is here, to help you know and teach you different types of recipes made by chefs, mums, bachelors and everyone who loves to cook and come up with innovative cooking.
Sadia Diggi sent us this cool recipe (Rice with potatoes and chicken sauce) to try out and we are loving it. We have tried out many sauce, but most people have not tried out the potato and chicken sauce which tastes great and feels great in your tongue. Recipes involving the use of potatoes are just so great. This is how Sadia made her rice with potato and chicken pepper sauce.


 

Ingredients

Potatoes
Bell Peppers
Onions
Garlic
Ginger
Meat ( Minced)
Seasoning
Salt to taste

Directions

  • Peel and cut potatoes in cubes

  • Cut fresh bell peppers and onions last

  • Put some vegetable oil on fire

  • Add onions garlic and ginger, add in the pepper allow to simmer add in the minced meat and potatoes, put seasonings to taste.

  • Serve along with your cooked rice.

LEMON GINGER SAUCE

One word for this "WOW". We are really loving the presentation of this meal, pretty creative. Also, just by looking at this pictures, you can almost smell the perfect aroma of this sauce. It is colourful, artistic, innovative and we are so sure it will taste amazing. Their are many and unique sauce recipes, but this sauce by chef Etim seem to be a masterpiece, with some many attention given to it.
Chef Etim did great with this meal just like his other recipes and he gave us detailed directions to help everyone make exactly the same or close to the same thing.
 
 
 


STRAIGHT FROM MY KITCHEN.

LEMON GINGER SAUCE

Ingredients

2 chicken breast. (Shredded)
1 cup chicken broth
2 medium carrot
1 red bell pepper
1 green bell pepper
1 Tbsp ground black pepper
2 Tbsp. Tamari or Soy Sauce. ( I used soy sauce here )
2 Tbsp. water
2 tsp. sesame oil
6 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
2 Tsp lemon zest
1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 Tbsp red cooking wine
½ Tsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp. fresh grated ginger
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp. cornstarch
1 Tbsp sesame seed for garnish

Directions


  • Spice the chicken breast with 2tbsp soy sauce, black pepper and lemon zest for 10-15 minutes.

  • Chopped the carrot and boil for 3 minutes to soft, cut other veggies set aside.

  • In a small bowl combined all the ingredients except sesame seed. Chicken broth, Soy sauce, Sesame oil, balsamic vinegar, apple cider vinegar, red cooking wine, Ginger and Garlic. Mix this very well to combined set aside.

  • Heat up 1tbsp veg oil in a medium high heat add the chicken stir- fry till golden brown, now add the sauce into the chicken pan stir-fry for a minute add the veggies stir-fry for 2 minutes taste for salt.


 
 
Served along with rice and garnish with sesame seed.

Fried Rice and Turkey Sauce with Peppered Snail

One expression to this 'wow'. The presentation of this meal is so cool you will probably find it difficult to eat. the colour contrast is just so perfect. Rice is that meal that almost everybody have in their menu, and many recipes using rice have emerged.
Fried rice is just that meal we love, apart from the unique taste it gives rice, it looks great and also give us an avenue to eat more of vegetables which is necessary for a healthy living.
Guess your mouth is already watery with the pepper snail and turkey sauce and the salad. This food by Naomi is filled with different recipes that complements each other, They have a different taste, a different texture when tested, but you sure will be left satisfied after the meal.

Ingredients



For the fried rice
1 cup of rice
Green beans
Green pepper
Spring onion
Carrot
Curry
Salt
Stock cube

For the Turkey sauce.
Half kilo of turkey,boiled.
Curry
Green Pepper
Carrot
Sweet corn
and a spoon of corn flour
salt,Stock cube and red pepper.

For the snail....
Pepper
Onion
Groundnut oil

Directions

For the rice.. per boil the rice. Chop your vegetables (carrot,green beans and sweet corn) Get a frying pan Put a little quantity of either groundnut oil or cooking butter. Allow to get hot add onion and the chopped vegetables to the oil add a little curry and allow to simmer for 1 minute . Get another pot put the per boiled rice add water,curry,salt and stock cube to taste and allow to Boil. 

 When water is dried add your fried vegetable and stir.. *To get that shape of the rice get a round small deep plastic plate, put the rice in the plate and press till its full then gently turn upside down into your eating bowl.

For the sauce(Turkey sauce)  Get a pot, boil the turkey(boneless Turkey) chop the turkey, green pepper,onion ,carrot and red pepper. Get another Pot add groundnut oil allow to get hot add the turkey and the chopped vegetables allow to fry for 1min or 2 . mix  a spoon of corn flour in water or the Turkey stock(the water from the boiled Turkey) and turn inside the vegetables and Turkey 
 ‎
‎Add salt, stock cube and curry to taste   For the peppered snail  Clean your snail well and boil with salt, onion and stock cube.. Get a frying pan add groundnut oil allow to get hot add the snail and fry for about 3minute Reduce the oil and add fresh grounded pepper( not too smooth pepper),curry, stock cube and salt to taste and allow to fry a bit....

‎Your snail is ready 

 For the salad use any salad Of your choice

Fried Yam with Veggie Sauce and Cucumber

We love Ayorinde's combination, Fried yam, veggie sauce and cucumber. One thing fried yam can not do without most times is the pepper sauce, but Ayorinde is going further by making the sauce a vegetable one with vegetables that are necessary for good health. Thus, sparking our idea on how to further add vegetables to our food menu. Also is the cucumber which, apart from being a healthy food compliments the look of this cool dish.
Here are steps in which Ayorinde made the Fried yam with veggie sauce and cucumber.

Ingredients 

Yam
Carrot 
Green pepper
Red Bell Pepper
Tomatoes 
Onions 
Green Peas
Spring onions
Beef or chicken stock
Cucumber 

Directions 


  • Peel the yam and cut into moderate slices


  • Then cut across each slices, rinse, drain in a sieve, 


  • Add salt and fry till slightly brown.


  • Dice your veggies (carrot, green and red bell pepper, tomatoes, onions, green peas and spring onions), 


  • Add beef or chicken stock, and stir fry for 5mins. 


  • Serve with the fried yam and garnish with cucumber slices

Turmeric Rice and Beef

Asmau came up with this masterpiece and we are so loving the look that amplifies our believe that food is truly an art. We know that this will taste amazing, but what got our attention to this food selfies is how amazing this dish looks, that we believe that the picture should be  enlarged and framed. Here is how Asmau made the turmeric rice with beef.
Ingredients :


Rice
Turmeric Powder
Oil 
Salt
Beef Strips
Garlic 
Ginger
Pepper
Onions
Soysauce

Directions 
  • Boil rice add turmeric powder to get the yellow colour

  • Add little oil and salt cook till soft.

  • Add little oil to pan, add beef strips, garlic, ginger, season cook till soft

  • At the end add cut pepper onions and soy sauce ‎.

  • Serve with yellow rice.

Vegetable Sauce


The food everyone most have in their diet are vegetables. Our body needs vegetables daily to stay healthy and strong, so every new recipes that involves how to make use of vegetables is always welcomed. Chetty shared with us how she spiced up her vegetables in such a way that will leave you craving for more. Here is how she made hers.
 

Ingredients


Goat meat
Prawns
Fresh tomatoes
Red bell pepper (tatashe)
Spinach

Directions

Cut meat into little chunks, spice, cook and set aside

Add a tablespoon of olive oil, onions, diced tomatoes, prawns and tatashe.

Add spices. When done, add the goat meat and spinach.spinach

Ofe Akwu Stew

The people from the South Eastern part of Nigeria has so many soups and stews that it is almost impossible to know them all. Soups are taken seriously by Nigerians and diversity has made available multiple soups to try out. They come up with different and innovative ideas that you will just love to give a try. The Ofe Akwu is an Igbo native soup sent in by our amazing subscriber Jenny, who gives us the step by step procedure to making the Ofe Akwu Soup.

Ofe akwu stew (Igbo native stew)

Ingredients


Palm kernel
Ogiri
Dried fish
Stock fish
Beef (goat meat can do too)
Scent leave
Pepper, cubes and crayfish

Directions:

Parboil meat with seasoning to taste and set aside.

Boil palm kernel for min of 20mins to soften the flesh, pound and squeeze out the sauce with little water to get thick sauce.

Cook sauce in uncovered pot for 10mins, add both dry and stock fish. Add ogiri, allow to cook (now cover pot) for a while

Add crayfish, cubes, pepper (yellow type is better) and boil for 5mins, add scent leave and bring down after 3mins.

Best enjoyed with local rice.

Plantain Sauce with Rice and Chicken



The plantain is that food that you can get creative with to give special taste to any recipe, some like their plantain just fried, some grilled, while some use plantain to make special recipes like gizdodo, dodo and chicken pepper sauce
Nnenna is giving us one of these plantain recipes, which is the plantain sauce coupled with rice and chicken. This plantain recipe by Nnenna is colourful, tasty, and unique. It will be a great recipe to add to your food menu both to your family and guest as well.

 

Ingredients 


white onions
Green pepper
Carrots
Diced fried plantain
Beef diced
Fresh tomatoes
Rice 
Chicken.

Directions

Cook rice and set aside. 



For the sauce put a little oil in a pot add onions,fresh ‎tomatoes and stir, add carrot, green pepper, diced beef, fried diced plantain, add spices example curry, stock cubes, ginger, garlic, salt to taste .

Stir and let it cook for 4mins. 

Serve with fried chicken or you can explore with any protein you like.

Shredded Beef Curry with Basmati Rice

We at NFC loves food with amazing presentations, it makes food all the more inviting. It is one of the reasons why we refer food as an art, and it truly is a beautiful art.
Bilkisu has submitted so many cool recipes to us that further makes us agree that food is truly an art.
Now to the food, this is a shredded beef curry with basmati rice and the cucumber on top just makes it so beautiful.
The beef, if made the way Bilkisu did it, is just so yummy and tasty, and we know that special taste basmati rice produce.


Ingredients:

1/2kg shredded beef,
2 cloves garlic,
2tblsp veg.oil,
carrots,
peas,
1 chopped onion,
1tsp curry,
1 cup coconut milk,
2tblsp tomato-pepper paste.

Directions 


  • Stir fry beef with garlic and seasoning in oil until the meat is fried.

  • Add tomato paste and keep frying for 2mins.

  • Pour the coconut milk, curry and bring to boil.

  • Add the carrots and peas, cook till the sauce is reduced.

  • Stir in the onions,

  •  Simmer for a minute before serving with steamed rice.

Chicken Casserole and White Rice.

Ingredients

Chicken
Carrot
Green pepper
Cabbage
Potatoes
Green beans
Corn flour. 

Directions

Wash and cut your chicken into smaller sizes, season and steam the chicken, add your potatoes to the chicken stock and cook for about 20mins.

Then add corn flour to thicken the casserole  and add your cut veggies. 

Serve with boiled rice or u can eat it with the potatoes. 

This is another great way to spice up your white rice

White Rice with Vegetable Sauce

Louis Shettima sent us this great recipe of rice made with vegetable  sauce and we are so loving it. It looks great and tasty as well.

Ingredients


Cabbage
Carrots
Green pepper
Curry
Garlic powder
Seasoning cube of your choice
Ground nut oil and a quarter glass of water

Directions

Cut all vegetables, cabbage, carrots, green pepper to shape or size of your choice

Add carrots to pan and pour some water to steam

Add cabbage to steamed carrots and steam on low heat

While steaming, add garlic and curry powder with seasoning cubes

 Add a table spoon of groundnut oil and cook half not fully done

Buttered Curried Rice with Turkey Stew and Shrimps and Vegetable Salad

 Rice is that meal almost everyone go for, it is easy to cook .This recipe is a little different from the every day normal rice, we have the common rice recipe like the jollof rice, the fried rice, the Chinese fried rice and also the white rice. but this recipe(Buttered Curried Rice) is different as you will be making use of butter, just as the name implies. Buttered curried rice was shared by one of our subscribers Shirley. see how she made it below


Ingredients

Pepper
Tomatoes
Onion
Turkey
Curry
Butter
Rice
Shrimps
Chicken
Cabbage
Cucumber
Carrots
Sweet corn
Red beans
Cream
Salt to taste

Directions


Turkey Stew:
 
Season and steam your turkey

Blend your pepper, tomatoes and onion

Pour your vegetable oil in a pot, when is a bit hot you add your sliced onion when it's a bit brown you add the blended pepper, tomatoes and onion, and season

Add your steamed turkey then allow it to simmer then it's ready. 

Curry buttered Rice:
 
Wash and per boil your rice, then wash the second time

Pour water in the pot, place on fire.

Add curry , butter and‎ salt to taste, when it boils you add your washed per boil rice and allow to cook till its done.
 
Shrimps and chick‎en mixed vegetable salad:
 
Wash and slice your cabbage, cucumber, carrots

Wash season and steam your shrimps and chicken allow it to cool then mixed them with the slice vegetables, add your sweet corn, red beans and whatever you like in your salad, add cream and it's ready.

Chicken Wings in Sauce


Chicken is that one food everyone just love to have as part of their menu and many have come up with different recipes to further spice up our taste bud and give the chicken a unique taste all the time. Some chicken recipes includes the popcorn chicken recipe, the crispy chicken recipes
and so many more. Our lovely subscriber, Yimsy sent us a delicious chicken recipe that do not only taste good, but is also healthy as it involves the use of various vegetables. This recipe also really looks good.
To make the chicken wings sauce is quite easy, Yimsy is giving us a very easy description and process of cooking the meal.
 
 
  • Ingredients:
 
6 med size chicken wings
          Fresh tomatoes
          Green pepper
          Carrot
          Red onions
          Lettuce
          Olive oil
          Stock cubes
          Salt

Directions
  • Marinate chicken using olive oil, pepper, garlic and stock cubes.

  • Leave for about 1hr then fry and keep aside.

  • Blend some fresh tomatoes and onions and chop some (including the carrots and green pepper) into cubes.

  • Heat up the olive oil then pour in the blended tomatoes, fry till it simmers then add the chopped vegetables, stock cube and salt to taste.

  • Stir and put out fire.

  • Dish into a plate then place the fried wings on or by the sauce with shredded lettuce by the side. ‎
