Homemade Chicken Shawarma

Do you think you have tried out all chicken recipe
es ? Have you run out of ideas of what to do with your chicken? Well have you think about making your own chicken shawarma?. Yes you can do this in your own kitchen.
Shawarma tastes great, almost all the time, the people that makes it outside can not just go wrong with it, though the recipes are usually different, the main aspect of the shawarma is just having that great feel   and also to savour the taste once you bite it. However, most people did not know that you can actually make shawarma at home, which is super easy and does not take much of your time.
Here is how Deyinka(one of our amazing blog visitor) made her shawarma right in her kitchen.

How to make Home Made shawarma

   Ingredients
Tortilla wraps
chicken breast(Cut in Chunks) or Frozen Smoked Chicken
Shredded cabbage and carrots
Cucumbers (diced)
4 garlic cloves
Tomato ketchup
Mayonnaise
one small bulb of onion
one lime/lemon
black pepper powder
chilli pepper powder
salt
one stock cube
curry, thyme.

Directions
  • Squeeze the lemon/lime juice in a bowl, add garlic, pepper, black pepper. curry and thyme, onions, salt and 2 tablespoons of vegetable/olive oil. mix till well combined and add your chicken breast chunks. Mix the chicken well with the marinade and set aside for at least two hours/ overnight. (i leave mine overnight) if using frozen chicken, just leave it to thaw and microwave for 30 secs.. its usually pre-seasoned. shred after thawing and use immediately.

  • Mix mayonnaise and ketchup in a bowl and set aside.

  • Separate Tortilla wraps from the packet and warm individually in a dry non stick pan for a minute or in a microwave for 10 secs

  • mix your shredded cabbage carrots and cucumber in another bowl.

  • Stir fry marinated chicken steps in a non stick pan with very small oil and grill afterwards.

  •  Spread mayo-ketchup mix on a tortilla wrap, spread veggies on one end, followed by the chicken (use your digression here when it comes to the filling) and roll each wrap. secure with a tooth pick. Repeat procedure for all wraps

  •  You can serve right away or warm in an oven/electric grill/ microwave.
Now you can make your shawarma at home, have fun with that.
Enjoy
