Abacha Ncha Or African salad as it's known is a traditional meal from the eastern part of Nigeria. No feast, festival or gathering is complete without the Abacha and that's for a good reason. The Abacha is tasty, healthy and easy to make. That is why it has travelled so quickly to other parts of Nigeria and is accepted by most.
The Abacha is now served in most beer spots and even hawked.
The Abacha is a healthy delicacy and easy to make. The smell and even look is all so inviting you can't wait most times to have a bite. The texture of this African salad is also amazing that you will love to savour and feel the texture before you swallow.
Abacha is pretty easy to make and here is how:
Ingredients
Abacha(cassava)
Oil
Salt
Fresh pepper
Stock Cube
Ugba(oilbean)
Garden eggs
Garden egg leaves
Stock fish
Ground crayfish
Oporo(fresh or dry)
Onions
Potash (optional)
Kpomo(optional)
Directions
- Soak cassava for 10 mins in water.
- Steam the stock fish until it's soft
- Mix palm oil, potash, ground crayfish, ugba, fresh pepper, salt ,onions and stock cube to taste. add the cassava to the sauce and mix, add the cooked stock fish, kpomo and oporo mix thoroughly, bring to steam for 5 mins and it's ready.
- Garnish with the garden egg, garden egg leaves, onions and pepper.
