Breadcrumbs are bread that has been grated or finely ground, either with or without the crust. They’re produced from both fresh and stale bread. Ready-made versions may also contain colouring, emulsifiers or treatment agents.
You can either make your homemade bread crumbs or buy from a store but why buy when you can make your Homemade Breadcrumbs
Why buy Bread Crumbs when you can make your own? They are economical and taste so much better.
Making home made bread crumbs are quite easy to make
What you will need
- Bread
- Food Processor /blender
Directions
Before making your breadcrumbs your bread needs to be
dry enough to crumble

- cut the bread into thin pieces
- To dry place the bread pieces in a tray spread in a single layer it will dry faster that way and bake 300 degree F. oven for about 10 min , if you don't want to make use of an oven just simply place the tray out in the sun until they are hard and crunchy
- Remove from oven and allow to cool
- Transfer to a food processor /blender and process until breadcrumb is reached
Recipes you can try this with are Scotch Eggs, Popcorn chicken, potatoe balls, Crispy Fried Chicken.

Storage
Fresh breadcrumbs are best used immediately, while dry breadcrumbs can be stored for a few weeks in a cool place, using an airtight container, or up to 3 months in the freezer.
