How to Extract Coconut Milk from a Coconut



Coconut milk tastes great, I personally love to use the coconut milk extract for my smoothies and fruithies, it adds that extra silk, classy and exotic taste to drinks or even recipes.
However, most people do not know how to extract the coconut milk and due to that settle for the canned coconut milk, which , according to researchers could be detrimental to ones health.
Not to worry, here are easy steps you can take to extract coconut milk from a coconut, now you can enjoy your coconut milk by yourself, with family and friends.

What you need

A bowl

Corkscrew to pierce the eyes

Sharp implement for Cracking the coconut

And a blender

Directions


  • The first thing to do is to pierce the three black eyes with a sharp instrument 


  • Then you drain the watery juice out of the eyes ( this is not your milk :) 
  • Crack open the coconut with a sharp instrument 
  • Remove the white meat from inside the two halves of the coconut shell.
  • Wash the coconut meat and cut into tiny pieces
  • Place the coconut meat in a blender, add warm water (Vary the amount of water to produce thicker or thinner milk) and grind into a smooth paste


  • Pour the mixture of coconut milk and chaff into a sieve and squeeze out as much milk from the chaff as possible.
