Fish Peppersoup

Pepper soup is a cool delicacy that almost all Nigerians have had a taste of. The soup is a special delicacy served in parties, homes, but mostly bars.
It solely give you the feel of the name it is called, ''Pepper Soups''.
 That is, that soup that is pepperish, which leaves you wanting something cold to quench that pepperish feeling. There are various types of pepper soup but what we have for you today, made by our amazing subscriber Bilikisu is the pepper soup made with catfish. This is so tasty it'll make you wanting for more. NFC also loves colour, which makes food beautiful, and as you can see, Bilikisu has made for us a colourful pepper soup which can add colour to your bar or events.
Here is how Bilikisu made her own pepper soup

Ingredients:


1kg catfish, cleaned, washed and cut
1 lemon
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1tablespoon tomato-pepper paste
3 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
1 fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
1 & 1/2 cup water
2 red chili peppers
1 leek, diced
2 bay leaves
3 seasoning cubes
Parsley, chopped
Salt

Directions

  • Marinate fish with lemon, pinch of salt and 1 seasoning cube for 15mins.

  • In a non-stick pot, fry the tomato-pepper paste, garlic and fresh ginger in oil for 2mins. Add the water and bay leaves, bring to boil.

  • Add the remaining seasoning cubes, leek, red chili peppers and then the fish.

  •  Lower the heat and allow to simmer for 5mins.

  •  Dish out and garnish with chopped parsley.


Serves 4
