Pounded yam , Efo riro and Turkey

 
Pounded yam is that one Nigerian cuisine, that most  Nigerians love to eat, it is tasty with an amazing texture that makes your mouth watery every time you come across it or eat it. Pounded yam accompanied with a nice Nigerian native soup like efo riro is just out of this world. Every one that has ever tasted this dish will always come back for more.
The pounded yam, though may be difficult to cook, it is still one of the most demanded food in Nigeria, no wonder business moguls now produce pounded yam flour to make the meal easier to cook.
Deyinka, who has sent us various recipes, sent us how she made her pounded yam the easiest way, she also sent us a Nigerian native soup (Efo Riro).
 
Ingredients
 
 
Yam,
water,
any green veggie of choice,
tomatoes,
pepper,
onions,
palm oil,
locust beans,
Stock cube,
dried and smoked fish,
turkey
 
Directions
 
Peel yams, cut into cubes and boil till soft.

Place in a food processor or stand mixer till it forms a dough. Scoop

Wash all ingredients, boil turkey with onions, smoked ponmo and add the fish after 5mins.

Boil the turkey in its juices first before adding water.

Blend pepper and boil till water evaporates.

Add oil in a pot, followed by onions and crayfish, add pepper followed by salt, stock cube and locust beans.

Add vegetables last and reduce heat. Turn off heat and serve with pounded yam.
