Shrimp Fried Rice

 
Fried rice is seen by most people as a difficult food to cook, most times, people don't make this at home even if they love it, just because they can not cook it. So we wait till their is a party or we buy from restaurants outside. There are different ways to make your fried rice, just like there are different ingredients used to make it. The thing about fried rice is that you can make use of any ingredient of your choice, according to what you like.
 
The main thing is knowing how to cook it, when to mix your ingredient at the right time. Our subscriber Ellen sent us a detailed description on how she made her own fried rice. Here is how:

Ingredients

Carrots
Green peas
Sweet corn
Lots of shrimps(cleaned and deveined)

Sausage
Spring onions
Red pepper
Green pepper
Onions
Seasonings of your choice, (fried rice spice preferred)
Vegetable oil
Per boiled rice, chicken stock (optional) and salt to taste.

Directions:

  • Cut all vegetables into small pieces. Except your canned grains.. Set them aside.

  • Add very little oil in a wide pot and fry you shrimps with little spice. Then remove and set aside. 

  • Add a little oil from the shrimps into a pot add onions and fry.

  • Add perboilled rice and stir fry. When fried add chicken stock (chicken water ) or ordinary water and fried rice spice, allow to cook till the rice is soft and tasty, set aside..

  •  Get another pot add a little oil, fry the diced hotdogs and onions. Then add the vegetables. Canned grains and salt and stir fry then add your cooked rice and fry together, then finally the fried shrimps. :)
